Juanita is amazing and I cannot recommend her and her services enough! This was my first pregnancy and I would be lying to say I wasn’t nervous! Juanita met with us several times during our pregnancy to prepare us for what to expect, give us helpful advice and answer all of our questions! Her knowledge, calm demeanor, and encouragement I believe helped me have a safe and beautiful delivery of our baby boy in a way that was in line with our desires. She was an advocate for us in the delivery room, she helped keep me calm, and I truly believe I needed less medical interventions due to her knowledge and techniques. If you are wanting a doula or just curious about what she does I highly recommend giving her a call!

Working with Juanita was one of the best decisions I made for my pregnancy and birth experience in Alabama. From the very beginning, she communicated regularly and consistently checked in, which made me feel supported and never alone in the process. She has access to an incredible amount of information and resources which is incredibly needed in the river region and navigating the OB/GYN and hospital landscapes and she generously shared them with me. Whenever I had questions or felt unsure, she provided thoughtful, evidence-based guidance and helped me think through my options. I especially appreciated how she advised me on who and what would be the best fit for my specific goals and preferences — it never felt one-size-fits-all. During labor and delivery, she was calm, knowledgeable, and incredibly supportive. Her presence made a huge difference in how I experienced the process. She helped me feel confident, informed, and cared for every step of the way. We had the best experience with Juanita through Southern Charm Doula Services. We only spent a few weeks with Juanita, but she quickly became to feel like family to us. She somehow made taking care of twin newborns look easy. She taught us so much that we will continue doing, and we truly feel like better parents because of her. She made our lives tremendously easier by cleaning, doing dishes, washing clothes, lactation support and treating our twins as her own kids. We will miss Juanita so much, but we know we will stay in touch and keep her updated on our kiddos. If you are considering using Southern Charm Doula Services, you should absolutely do it!
