I had to stay here back in the mid 80's! I was in Houston and knew nobody and my original plans fell through the floor. A kind soul found me on the streets and took me there. I felt safe for the first time ever! They fed me checked out my health gave me a safe place to sleep and always had a wonderful staff and counselors to speak with. When I found my first apartment they had a ton of things for the residents to receive to help get them on their feet! Absolutely wonderful caring facility for young ones to get them started on their journey to be on their own! I surely would not be alive now if that 1 kind soul hadn't taken me there! Thank You Covenant House for the Love and Guidance and Protection while I was there and you all gave me the tools to live on my own! Blessings Be for them and their residents!

So first off I’d start by saying this if your a homeless youth and you need somewhere to stay this should be a last resort. Wake up at 6 am gotta be out your room by 7am can’t go back until 3pm and Curfew is 7pm. If your Lgbtq or transgender they definitely play mental games with you and it’s mentally exhausting. I’m a barber and I wanted to cut the boys hair for free was told no for no apparent reason and the boys don’t like the hair van that comes around I was highly requested. When I first got there a staff violated HIPPA and outted me on being trans then they put me in quarantine room with a whole bunch of mold and mildew which I’m allergic too had got cold symptoms then they tried to say it was Covid and kept me in a room 5 days…….. Harris county mental health had to be called because I had a mental breakdown because of my depression and only then did they shape up a little still to this day covenant house is not the first to be recommended by me just went to cut the boys they tried to call the police because I was cutting hair 🤦🏾♂️. The plus is 3 meals a day but last meal is 5pm so you wake up hungry af meals are 30 minutes if you miss it you don’t eat sometimes 🙄. I got housing through the coalition for the homeless houston call them not this place.

I have always known who they are and what they do for our youth. I was looking to adopt a teenager, but 18 is older than I was looking for. Good people there.
