But I thank God I'm not in the streets anymore I been off the streets for 4 years and now I got a job... And I love what I'm doing... if I could do it yall could do it too. Amen to yall of yall.. just keep your head up high

It's been a long time since I ever went to the beacon. Mainly because I'm no longer in Houston, but I can give you my experience and the experience of my wife. We used to go to the beacon on a fairly regular basis while we were homeless in Houston. We even attempted to get housing help through the beacon. Not only did we get the runaround multiple times, not only were we called a liars by the person that was supposed to help us, but we were also eventually set up to fail. We actually got housed, but then 5 months later we were illegally evicted from the apartment. By that point I was done with Houston and the beacon. They might be trying to do some good things, but I can't recommend it. If I was homeless in Houston right now, I try to find a way to go somewhere else. Because they're not really doing enough down there for people.

One of the very few places that are actually helping homeless people who need and want help. They have alot of services like showers, laundry, mail, food, and many other services. I'm "In between homes" (temporarily homeless). They are helping me now! Thank you!
