Sadly, no one answered the door or the phone. This is a bummer when it’s suppose to be a safe house and safe resource center.

Valeria and Krystal are both unresponsive and unappreciative.
METROCARING.ORG, LOCKWOOD FOUNDATION, ALITTLEHELP.ORG, are all accepting volunteers with open arms. Go there, not here!
I attended Orientation to volunteer in Sep 2021, paid 75 dollars in background checks. I was told I can start volunteering starting JAN-2022.
Since then, I have followed up monthly for 5 months with 2 short responses from Krystal and Valeria saying they are not taking volunteers at this time. Not "thank you for your interest, we are so sorry, we can't wait to have you come in" or something more concerned and involved.
I asked for a refund on the 75-dollars and no response again on email. I left 2 voicemails for Valeria's manager to call me back and still no response.

My only concerns here are health concerns no heat and no air and there are no locks on the residence rooms not safe for children and people who have low immune systems

Safehouse was incredibly helpful for me and my son during a tough transition in 2014. I received free counseling services, group counseling to help with co-parenting and they sponsored us for a few holidays and relieved some financial stress.
I have not used the overnight services, but I was very happy with what was available to me and don't think I would have made it through without them.
