Clients may meet their stringent criteria for assistance, but they will come up with every excuse not to serve them. They are not an organization for the people. They pick and choose what is for their convenience. They are first in it for themselves before they will do the right thing and help the victims. This is wrong. They need to use their funds for what it was meant for - helping and protecting survivors of domestic violence. Instead, they have their own secret agendas and their politics.

Definitely believe the poor reviews, this place is a joke. I came here to donate when their business hours say open, in the morning, and no one was there or answering phones. I finally reached someone on the urgent line and they said they are closed today for a mental health day. What a joke. This place is open for the vulnerable and from the reviews it sounds like they don’t even do that, but they can take an entire business day off for their mental health. They should focus more on the mental health of many survivors they end up turning away because they have no urgency to care for them. What a shame safehouse Denver. Do better or close down, stop wasting everyone’s time with the excuses your leave when replying to your clients bad reviews to justify the lack of help or resources you actually give out.

Only come here as a place to rest your head, this is a horrible place for resources and real help, especially when you're having one of the most difficult times in your life.
I asked for help several times, and staff would always refer me to somebody else or tell me I have to wait. I was starving for days because they had no food, barely any cups or even forks, not even water. And they did not help! That was the worst part. Even after I told them I'm feeling suicidal, they still did not help. I ended up leaving back home, somehow that felt better than here. They literally just don't care. Still no follow-ups a week and a half later, and they were supposed to refer me to counseling, but this place is a joke. Especially when you're already really struggling, people need help!
They make everything even more difficult for you, they couldn't even tell me where the nearest store was so I could get groceries for my kids. When I finally found a way to make it to a store and get things, because they had nothing and I was starving, they started STEALING MY PERSONAL FOOD! I got more traumatized here, please look elsewhere I know this must not be normal.
They list all these supposed resources they have in their website, but from my experience, that's a lie! I asked for these same resources from multiple staff, multiple times. They do not care!!! I also wrote a long complaint, no response. Now what does that tell you? That they do not care. Highly disappointed, because I was referred here multiple times, and I came here to save me and my kid's lives! All I got was more struggle and no help, and I was already mentally breaking down. Things got worse for me while being here. Do not recommend.
