I certainly had a very disappointing experience with this organization. Unfortunately, they do not show a strong desire to help and seem to do only the bare minimum, nor can they even be forthright if they are unable to help, but string the client along, creating even more helplessness and anxiety for the client who is dealing with a life-altering, time-sensitive matter. This is what occurred to me after I was able to make contact with a paralegal by the name of Daniel Galvin, after he told me that he would relay the info I gave him during my intake to an attorney and get back to me. Well, I had to wait a full 15 days to hear back from him again, only because I had reached out to the Executive Director, Lauren Breen, with the complaint of his completely ignoring my outreach attempts and not making any contact with me during these 15 days. After making my complaint, I finally receive only an e-mail stating that the reason it took so long to get back to me was because "the attorney was out of the office." But, he couldn't just let me know that when I was reaching out? No, he'd rather just ghost me and make me wonder what is going on. He also stated in his e-mail that NLS was going to send me a letter with advice and information regarding my situation. Guess what? I never received such letter. Do yourself a favor, and reach out to WNY Law Center, where they will respond to you like you are a human. If you want to be frustrated, demeaned, and NOT treated like a human with dignity, then by all means, reach out to Neighborhood Legal Services.

I haven't been there physically, however I am currently engaged with one of their attorneys because I'm being unlawfully evicted - and he has been absolutely fantastic!! I can't say enough good about them, certainly an imperative service, especially down here. THANK YOU N.L.S.

Ineffective counsel is a major understatement,sad that a city this large doesn’t have any adequate legal assistance for low income and seniors . It is a crime when your only options are places that feel that they can repeatedly do nothing to help you and then after months they give you an inaccurate report ,saying that they are unable to resolve your legal issues and tell you to try your congressman! Just sad
