I always give my good stuff to MA. I feel better knowing that it isn't re sold, but given to someone who is in need of a helping hand. I'm (we actually) in the downsizing side of life. So the hardest part is watching two 60 somethings carry it downstairs and out to the truck.

I haven’t been there before but I hear a lot of good things. I’m needing some help with furniture and pass due light bill and current light bill. I’m struggling so bad. I have 3 kids. I want to know if y’all can help deliver I have a small suv and none of my family have trucks.

Beautiful people. Always helpful and hopeful. They help everyone that come through their doors one way or another. I've the fact that Christ's love is shared through every person as they pray for you before leaving every time .

Usually I am extremely appreciative of things I get from mission Arlington, but unfortunately they have changed so much. I usually don't need help much, but every once in a while you might hit a rough patch which just happened to me recently. They will give you a voucher for things you are requesting help with. For me it was food and I needed a few clothing items because most the stuff I have now isn't fitting. They used to have a room fully dedicated to clothing, a food pantry in the same building you fill out the forms, and an outdoor area with all kinds of miscellaneous stuff. They have now moved the building across the street and everything is in this same room which is pretty small compared to how they used to run the place. When I went in they let me choose clothing first, what I desperately needed was bottoms mainly. Unfortunately they mainly had male clothing with stains all over the clothes, the female clothing was in the smallest sections and they didn't really have anything. It was sad to see the size of the bags they give you is huge. Which people can probably fill with more clothes then necessary. The bad size really needs to be minimized. This way it stops people from clearing the whole place out from just being stingy. I basically had collected 3 shirts and that was it, no bottoms that I desperately need. 😕 They no longer have kids clothing really, just baby clothing which looks like all the stuff people didn't want and decided to donate. Most of these baby clothes had stains as well. After I was done collecting my 3 shirts I was like all well I really just need food anyway. The voucher they gave me and my mom was for 2 bags of food a piece (my mom and I live in different places). The people running the pantry refused to give us our two bags and only gave us one a piece. The only food in my bag was a huge box of Cheerios, two small snack bbq chip bags and 3 canned items. I figured they would have given us a loaf of bread, and maybe a few other items like they used to before they moved the food pantry, but they didn't. Idk how I am supposed to survive off the items given especially since I don't even have milk right now. They didn't give us any useful items. I can't even make a dinner or a breakfast with what they gave me. Mission Arlington has gone way downhill, which is sad for the people only hoping for the necessities to survive. 😕

I used to volunteer here during my college days. This is the only place that I donate clothing and other items because I know that people in need will actually receive those items! They have a store where people can 'shop' and pick up the items they need, all while giving them some sense of normalcy. Mission Arlington truly gives back to the community and that is why I still donate to this day!
