Lucy Newson is one of the best counselors I have ever encountered! She listened so well to my concerns and helped to navigate the steps forward to understanding and healing. There were times that she prayed over me; her beautiful soulful heart touched me greatly! Lucy is a true blessing in my journey to making my life have more meaning. Her ability to make you feel that you are in a safe environment and not being judged created a true authentic ability in me to share my heart with her. I am so thankful for finding Lucy, God knew what I needed when I found Lucy!

My child is a client of Julie Robbins. They have been to see Ms Robbins for approximately 2 months. Our expectation was to see an improvement for better communication within the family and for our child to talk openly and freely; express herself to a third party. My spouse and I sat in on an impromptu family session. What I do not understand about this particular therapist is the fact they made assumptions about certain things without getting more background information/history (from all all parties included) and conversation during the impromptu session. How does one assess anything without having all of the pertinent facts and history? So, it came across as strange. Mentally, I felt like I had to do a double take. This particular person’s communication style was not what I expected when it came to the family session. On a personal level, I would not choose her if I had to find someone to talk to because this therapist’s style does not work for me. However, my child thinks she’s okay and the weekly talks have helped a bit, which is good. We have seen an improvement lately in our child’s communication style. They have warmed up more to meeting and making friends. There have been a few separate occasions where our child’s appointment was canceled or moved to a virtual setting due to a vacation or illness on the therapists end. I understand therapists are people and do have their personal lives but the constant rescheduling comes across as more of a habit. I could be wrong but it just looks messy.

I have been seeing Lucy Newson at the Houston Center for Christian Counseling, Katy location, for 6+ years now. Her patience, kindness, and wisdom has helped me through the darkest times in my life. She has not only been wonderful emotional support, but has help retrain my brain on how to respond to disappointment and anxiety. I'm so thankful that Houston Center for Christian Counseling accepted my insurance and led me to Lucy. If you're dealing with any type of personal issue, I highly recommend making an appointment with Lucy and allowing her talk you through it. Having a thinking partner and emotional support system outside of close friends and family is life changing.
