I will just start by saying I should’ve known with the previous reviews that they would turn me away as well. What it seems like with this type of agency you would need to be beat up constantly by an ex and make nearly no income to be helped. Family violence does come in many forms as well as harassment. I honestly feel as though I put way too much time in gathering information just for them to not even allow me to get past the intake process. A word of advice a lot of other attorneys outside of this agency will take your case no matter how small the issue may seem. It would be a strong no for me to refer anyone here. Best of luck to you ladies who need assistance please try a family law attorney, explain your situation and finances and they will work with you. This agency has wayyyy too many steps and qualifications you’ll need to meet JUST to be helped.

They won't help you out and the lady that answered she transferred me over to another person and this lady was like oh I don't want you to waste your time to file this case. IF YOU THINK PROTECTING MY LIFE AND MY CHILDS LIFE IS A WASTE A TIME THEN WHY ARE YALL HERE? WHY IS THERE AN ORGANIZATION THAT SAY THAT THEY "HELP" VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC ABUSE. YALL ARE A JOKE.

I wish to use this platform to appreciate AVDA for all that they have done for me in the last two years. While with Ms. Warsi and Ms. Nelda, I never felt like another paper work in front of them, they took me seriously and yet fought for me and my kids like if they have known me for ages. I felt safe for the first time with strangers but Ms. Warsi and Ms. Nelda are no longer strangers to me. I remember when my case was picked up and I was scared really terrified and your first call to me changed everything. Mrs Nelda today am alive because you made that call and walked me through my emotions until I could think straight again. Thanks for always been a phone call away. Ms. Nelda you took me like family and I had no fear. Mrs Warsi sent someone to check up on me. I have seen how many cases you work on and yet you take us all so seriously. I remember before our first hearing, I don't know what I wanted or what was ahead of me in this divorce process, Ms. Warsi went in there and got me everything I needed and wanted for me to stand. Thanks for all their support even while I was pregnant and after the baby came. Ms. Warsi and Ms. Nelda never backed out. I don't know how you have been doing this or why you doing this but thanks for doing all that Ms. Warsi and Ms. Nelda do. Today me and my kids are in a better place at peace and safety just because Ms. Warsi and Ms. Nelda were there for us. My daughter was praying yesterday and she said thank you lord for giving us a new house that struck me again to seeing how much impact you have made, we didn't end up on the street because AVDA stood for us. I have so much i want to pinpoint and appreciate you over but even a day will not be enough to say all you have done for me and my kids and also to appreciate you. Thank you so much ma'am and I really really really really do appreciate Ms. Warsi and Ms. Nelda ma'am.

This place….where do I start…thank you!!!! My divorce I filed in 2019 and was finalized in 2020. The pandemic had just started and I didn’t have to appear in court, it was done electronically and I was sooooooooo happy I didn’t have to see his face again!!!!! Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!! I am not sure why this organization has bad reviews. I had an amazing experience with them. Since the first person I spoke to, I was given respect and patience. The lawyer helped me obtain a protective order for myself and my daughter. There is lots of homework you have to do, from filling out paper work, to back and forth emails, but who said fighting for something important was easy? All the time I put into making sure I turned everything in, was worth it. The lawyer and the paralegal responded quickly and were always there to help. I even received help from a counselor to help me with my trauma! What else can you ask for? Thank you AVDA for helping me, being in an abusive relationship is no joke, get out! Ask for help!
