I called the number for this place, spoke with Georgia, she is a 24-hour phone answer service. She let me know James house is not open on Friday and if you come from another state you do not meet criteria for shelter help but they'll send a case manager to talk to you and she can only tell me I did not meet the criteria she did not tell me what criteria had to be met Georgia was very helpful and kind she did give me other resources to call and she was very patient but she kept interrupting.

I went to this organization for HELP. I was offered a grant to help me pay for the deposit on a place for me and my three children. They placed us in a hotel room for almost three weeks. An incident occurred which resulted in them moving me to another hotel JUST TO FIND OUT that they only put me there for two nights, didn’t tell me I was due to check out until less than 24 hours notice, and then once I found a place they told me that they “didn’t have the funds” to help assist me in getting a roof over me and my children’s heads. They didn’t offer counseling for me, or my kids. They literally just gave me a temporary stay and basic stuff to help me get by, just to tell me they COULDN’T HELP. I’m literally back in the same position I was in before I reached out to the James House! This was a WASTE! I will NEVER ask ANYONE for help again!!! They’re liars and fakes!!! If I could give them ZERO STARS FOR GIVING A SINGLE MOTHER A GLIMPSE OF HOPE, JUST TO TAKE IT AWAY FROM HER AND HET KIDS, I WOULD!!!

I called multiple times and tried to donate hundreds of dollars worth of baby formula that family bought for us when there was a shortage. No one called back to tell me if they did or didn't accept it. There are so many mothers out there who can't afford formula, it could have helped alot of mother's and babys. Absolutely ridiculous. I have some clothes I wanted to donate that still have tags but idk if this is the place based on the other reviews
