I don't think that peace and love is really possible until all the cars are off the roads. Jesus Christ never owned a car. Jesus Christ most likely walked in the forests, and he never owned a radio.

I was the Youth Minister here from the summer of 2012 to the summer of 2014 and absolutely loved it. The main sanctuary and chapel are absolutely beautiful and have the most fantastic stained glass. This alone makes it easy to feel God's presence. So many different ministries available to find support, to grow with others and help the community. Sunday morning fundraiser food is the best, especially when the Vietnamese ministry does their food. Fr. Paul is not only very knowledgeable and skilled in his ministry, he is clearly a holy man who has a heart for God and His people. The supporting deacons are also fantastic and are so, so willing to help. I've also appreciated that they have been live streaming daily and Sunday Masses on Facebook (you can just search Facebook for St. Justin Martyr Catholic Houston on Facebook and you'll be able to find it), which has been so extremely helpful for me. But probably the most beautiful thing about the church are the parishioners. It's is easily one of the most diverse parishes that I've ever been to. There is a huge, huge Latino, Vietnamese and African (mainly Nigerian, from what I experienced) population, and it so clearly illustrates the universal nature of the Catholic Church. It's pretty typical for the Nigerian members to wear traditional garb and headdresses, and I just cannot emphasize how awesome that is. If you're looking for a Catholic parish that is more traditional (not really rock and roll played at Mass like you find at some other churches), but still preaches the word of God and the teachings of the Church in a relevant way, St. JM is really a good place to check out. It's also very humble, and while it may not be a wealthy parish, it still has so much to offer. Though I haven't been to Mass in person there since I left my position there, I do often stop by the parking lot to pray, since even the parking lot feels like Holy Ground. God bless, St. JM. So many great memories there.

Been attending service at SJMC since 1998. Great pastoral team, wonderful welcoming congregation. Many groups to join
Great feeling of brother and sisterhood. Feels like family. Building up of spiritual lives also well taken care. Know many families who have been attending 20+ years.
