Background on my daughter, whom was the patient at Southern Crescent: seeking assistance in no longer coexisting with suicidal thoughts, self-harming, her confidence, setting boundaries with friends- amongst other mental health related things, but most importantly *to gain tools so she can finally start healing from her traumas. * Therapist: Ms. Carla Length of "treatment": November 2022- June 2023, totaling 8 months of one-on-one sessions at 45 minutes. 2 cancelations on our behalf after we found a schedule that worked for my daughter and her HS, and 4 on behalf of Ms. Carla. Parent Experience: Do not send your kids here. Please. For the love of everything that is sacred. Over the course of 8 months I never saw my daughter feel lighter in a substantial way that felt and looked different on her. I visibly saw my daughter grow frustrated with how therapy was going and suggested she write a letter to Ms. Carla about how she was feeling. Which was that my daughter was feeling disconnected from Ms. Carla and her form of therapy. In said letter my daughter expressed her sincere emotions about feeling disconnected, not safe nor secure enough in their sessions. We had discussed it as a family and in a mother and daughter setting. I know just how much my daughter wanted to be connected to therapy and her therapist. I even suggested finding a therapist somewhere else, but the thought of her having to recount everything she herself had worked so hard to say over the past 8 months was just too much for her. From the beginning I was always open and willing to communicate with Ms. Carla, which was hardly ever reciprocated. As recently as of July 8th when I sent out a lengthy email responding to her short 4 sentence email with no signature, about my daughter possibly self-harming. It went unanswered for over 12 DAYS. The way the safety plan was created between my daughter and Ms. Carla is extremely worrisome and was treated as a passing thought. My daughter voiced her lack of faith as they were creating the safety plan to Ms. Carla and she was told that that is how safety plans worked, they had to do it and an adult had to be put down on said plan. There was no inquiry as to why my daughter actually felt defeated before she even started. I never saw Ms. Carla go above and beyond for my daughter, and my kid needed that- every kid coming here needs that. The importance and compassion behind my daughter and her mental health was never felt by me her mother, from Southern Crescent or Ms. Carla. Update as of 9/8/2023: Karamella on her own with the support from her parents, personally curated support system, and form of therapy that makes her feel heard/seen/and validated, she has within the time she has cut ties with Mrs. Carla: ON TRACK TO GRADUATE EARLY, TREASUER OF A CLUB, BACK AT BRICK AND MORTAR @ AN AWESOME ACADMEY, AND HANGING OUT WITH FRIENDS. THE BEST THING THO?? SHE HAS NOT SELF HARMED SINCE LEAVING.

I was getting counseling at the Jonesboro office and Mahogany was my “counselor” and I would NEVER recommend anyone to go to these people for help! About the third week in this chick tells me we hit a wall where she doesn’t know how to help me, she couldn’t find me any shelters, she couldn’t just tell someone over the phone that I have depression & ptsd to help me get out of everything I’m going thru (that simple & she’s not “authorized” to get on the phone and help) she told me counseling wasn’t going to really help as long as I was where I was STUCK at! When I was expressing I’m stuck!!! My living situation is hell, I moved to another state only knowing who I moved with and I vented to Mahogany about these things & for whatever reason Mahogany was reporting to Carla telling her (from my knowledge) whatever she wanted to tell her about my sessions! Mahogany told Carla about my session whatever she told Carla made Carla tell Mahogany she has to call family services. Mahogany anonymously called and LIED to family services telling them things I’ve NEVER said to her! I am now homeless from trying to get help from these people because Mahogany won’t own up to what she did and MY family thinks I called family services because she didn’t say it was her! Do yourself a favor and never seek “help” from this place or if you do record your sessions to protect yourself. These ppl seem like they’re trying to hurt people more than help! I will not recommend at all! I’ve been calling to speak to the executive director and people that can handle this matter and no one has returned my call yet. It’s 2 days since. They don’t even deserve one star this place is horrible
