Bledstein Bledstein rated 2 8 months ago God told me while I was there that there was alot he wanted changed about that place...I was only there a couple of months but I felt very much like I was treated like a criminal because I had a job... while I was there the only reason most of the women I saw leave left because a family member came and got them or some guy they just met...I didn't witness any actual placement into a new place to live by the actual facility...it broke my heart...it really shook my faith to be there even for the short couple of months I was there but I know God has plans to make it right there and I'm thankful for the experience just for him to tell me that |
Nicholas Lococo rated 2 9 months ago Went the the 3/4 house 12 years ago at 5he old mission......I give 2 stars because what I experienced in the month I was there, helped me decide that I didn't belong in such a horrible place. I was drug tested for talking to another resident and this autistic guy they had staying there for free(we all swore it was just so he'd rat on people)told the director we were doing drugs. I passed the UA. But then I was locked out all night once when I had to work late, the food came second hand from the main mission. Overall it was a horrible experience that I'm greatful for because I did have a place to sleep, but more so because it made me get my head straight so I'd never end up back there. I've become quite successful on my own since leaving, no thanks to the mission. |
Billie H. rated 5 9 months ago I will forever be grateful for the staff at the mission. The day I rang the bell at the Shreveport Bossier Rescue Mission I was expecting to be met with rejection. The same rejection I had experienced after making many phone calls. I was at the end of my rope, exhausted in every sense of the word, and He knew it. I have been treated with kindness, fairness, and empathy by the staff here. There IS peace in this house. The directors make certain that you have what you need to rebuild and restart. There are many programs to fit a variety of peoples needs. I could never repay them for what they have given me. You cannot put a price on your salvation. |
Emma Lee Dainter rated 1 a year ago I fear for any sensible person, Christian or otherwise, to step foot in this facility. I did research on it after a dear friend of mine told me she was kicked out for “not being Godly enough.” (She was an atheist and open to learning about God!) I’ve heard horror stories from women I’ve reached out to that have left reviews. If you go to this facility and they tell you they are not government funded, they are lying through their teeth. They are government-funded. No 2 million dollar facility can run on pure donations alone. Not to mention the owners use their profits for their own gain. They make the area that donors come in and see look nice and clean and fancy, while they have prison bunk beds for their residents to sleep on. It’s all a scam. Women have told me about the hate that has come from the staff and the other residents alike, from the “Christian” facility. Women with mental health issues are thrown out for ‘not believing in God enough to be healed’ when they have an incident occur. One young woman said she was in pain and they told her she was faking it for the sake of not going to church, only for her to be kicked out a few days later and then having to have surgery weeks later for this pain she “faked.” One woman, who has a review here, says she had a seizure and came to to find the pastor trying to exorcise demons out of her, and her doctor said she was lucky to be alive after they didn’t help her. These people seem to have a twisted sense of Christianity and what God is. They speak the name of our Lord and use His name for hate and greed. He wants us to believe in him and to love others unconditionally and help them. He will not condemn you like these people make it seem like. Seek shelter elsewhere, please. God bless. |
