I am a retired Social Worker who wanted to continue to use my education and experience in some way to give back to others. I carefully chose Project Self-Sufficiency and offered to volunteer my time to them in any way that would be helpful. Quickly, the past 8 years have flown by and I feel like this is a purpose and fulfillment in my life. I am so proud to be part of this organization. When asked "what does Project Self Sufficiency do", it can be answered simply by saying it helps men, women and families become self-sufficient when they come to a bump in the road. I could also answer with a long summation because Project Self Sufficiency has so many facets and tries to recognize and plan for all variety of needs they recognize in our client's lives. All the dedicated staff have such a strong desire to make it a better world for those who call and they are so compassionate and caring. As for the director who started this agency many years ago, she has dedicated her whole being to this organization. Many thanks for giving hope to all and truly doing everything to make Project Self Sufficiency a path to a better life.

I first went without getting a thanksgiving turkey but Melanie called me back to give me a whole basket of thanksgiving package and a big turkey, and everyone there helped me to put the stuff in the trunk of my car!!! Amazing!!! Thank you all

I had the opportunity to volunteer for a morning at their summer camp career day. From the minute I step onto their campus to the very last segment of my presentation I felt welcomed the entire time. Everything was extremely organized and I couldn’t help but be grateful for what PSS is doing for our community and way beyond that.
