Michelle Giebelhouse rated 1 5 months ago I am an employer and I took them one of the ladies from this facility out to work with me while out she took money from another person who happened to be a client of mine I do not personally recommend hiring from this facility she did not tell me that the lady had paid her for her work today and she did that day and also had me pay her on top of it so the lady and I were both out $100 I am very very disappointed in this place!! |
L P rated 1 4 years ago I truly wish I would be sitting here writing about what a great resource this establishment was to my little sister when she was in a serious almost deadly situation yesterday. I went in with her after being told by the magistrate this is where she could get help with a protective order. Upon entering the lady stated we were 20 minutes past time to receive services. At that point my sister started to cry because who wouldn't after the morning she had. Her boyfriend had already physically thrown her out with their 1 year who he also had thrown. This boyfriend had attacked her and our father(who had only tried to protect my sister).
At that moment we were inside this establishment the boyfriend was across the street about to be released on bail to his Mother. Which brings to light he had charges that we're automatic 48 holds yet he was being released how is that? Anyways my point is my young sister went in here because she was told she could receive help here. The lady offered to print a temp custody order packet for my sister at that point my sister went out to the car to get a paper and check on her son who was in my vehicle with my husband. I stepped out of the woman's sight to watch my sister walk to the car and back since the attackers parents are just across the street. When the lady who works here thought we both walked out she stated to her co worker "These crazy bi***** here.." Starts to explain to her what's happening with the holiday and it being after hours. I stepped around the corner and let her know I had heard her and how unprofessional she was and that we would not need her help. No one had yelled or gone crazy. My sister was exhausted and been to two different buildings one of which my had sister been stared down by the boyfriends Mother while the mother was outside waiting on her son she was bailing out.
We have never felt so disrespected, I told my sister to get in my car from this establisment, I returned to the magistrate who gave me the conditions of release of the boyfriend then he told us to go to the Public safety office which we did and were able to start to file what we needed to protect her and our family. My sister wasn't crazy she was upset she's young and had been through horrible morning. When that lady was telling her that basically her emergency happened after hours and there's a holiday so there's no judges. I stated what happens when this kind of crime happens not in regular business hours? Because it felt like she was telling us there was no hope and this boyfriend is across the street about to be released after what he had done this morning. No one yelled or got crazy. Some really terrible things happen and my sister had been a victim of domestic violence. She'd been physicallly and verbally abused the past few days that led up to this boyfriend attacking our father( who was at the hospital at the moment getting a CTscan. Of course my sister was not in the best shape. Who is when they walk into a women's shelter seeking help. I can only imagine women who walk in with no one and nothing to support them. Luckily my sister has our entire family to help and support her. I am ashamed that the county I have lived in and called home has this place as a resource for women that would need them at one of the scariest and most helpless points in their life to turn to. I do not think calling my sister names as she was not in earshot was called for no matter what happened, she didn't yell or get crazy. She was crying and upset, confused as to what to do next because it's not an easy process.
There were women's names on the wall who lost their lives to domestic violence in the past. My family and I will do what it takes to make sure my sisters name does not end up on that wall. However I surely hope theres re-training done for employees/volunteers here on how to address, direct and help women in these situations because today was shocking and that wall does not need anymore names. |
Hazel Prince rated 2 7 years ago It's clear some staff just see that job as a pay check and they staff that really brings that place together receive no credit. These people promise you that you are family once you leave but then your calls don't get answered. Get all you need while you're but because after its over, it's over. And the staff that you actually work with in your living area gossip, lie on you and are very very judgemental. |
Deborah Ann Culp rated 5 10 years ago This Center and it staff are very well versed in the Community and all issues affecting women. They offer the same customer service and "hands on " approach for men in need of their assistance. All calls are taken in the the strictest confidence to further assure caller's identity and safety. The Center does more than offer a band-aide approach, they work in conjuration with other agencies, available resources to begin and apply healing for the victim and their family, if other family members are involved. |
