A Constant Love rated 1 2 weeks ago Unfortunately, this Place is not so great for single BLACK mothers. They Denied Me because my last two checks were short due to my father having to go to dialysis so I had no one to take my child to school. They Denied Me saying that my checks stated I'm living above my means. I Would've had my rent but I paid off all my court fees to get my driver's license to get a better job for my son and I to not have to go through what we're about to go through because North Dallas Shared Ministries Judged me off of my color and my last two pay stubbs and just assumed. The lady on the phone showed no care at all ! She said "I really hate this because you single mothers have these jobs paying $15 an hour and we can't even help you. We'll I wish you and your son luck" then hung up straight in my face. I Just needed half l of my rent and they would rather help someone whom faked civil or someone whom got their car totalled and had an $1000 deductible that they Obviously could afford. |
markeisha mccall rated 1 a month ago This is the worst place to reach out to for assistance with anything, JUDY from the organization is one of the rudest most racist individuals that I've ever encountered, and if I had been a more weaker minded individual she would've had me contemplating suicide, she's cold hearted and spoke with me in a manner like she new me which was even more disrespectful, this has discouraged me from reaching out to any ministry to get assistance of any kind, if you're Caucasian you may get better help and assistance but if you're of Hispanic or African American decent I wouldn't waste my time with this place as they are definitely not doing the LORDS WORK at this place. I would give it 0 starts but you have to give at least one in order to post the review and they didn't even deserve that. If you would like to speak with someone with people skills, common sense, and respect I suggest you speak with Janet as she was very pleasant and understandable. I'm going to be speaking to a lawyer about this company they need to be SHUT DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
McKenian Peterson rated 1 3 months ago I called to get help with rent since I was behind for one month & since I missed work a couple of days due to be sick they basically belittle me telling me my case was not approved because of poor money management. I’m explaining how it’s not due to poor money management I have other bills that needed to be paid as well and being behind on rent and trying to maintain the other bills put my behind. This place was a joke. |
Rachel Neal rated 1 3 months ago I spoke to the director Judy Rorrie after a volunteer by the name of Val provided her number and asked me to contact Judy directly. I did as I was asked and was greeted by a seemingly very rude and unhappy elderly woman.
I was approved for rent assistance and asked to pay my portion and they would then mail out a check. I asked if there was anyway a volunteer could drop off a check to the front office to avoid late fees. Judy responded by asking if I was vaccinated (that's none of her business). I responded by telling her no I was not. She then rudely said "we shouldn't even be doing this, you should be vaccinated!" Appauled I said excuse me?! Where she then went on to tell me it is my responsibility to be vaccinated and I am putting people at risk. I asked her if this was in their policy to only help those who are vaccinated she replied by saying no but is should be. I couldn't believe how incredibly rude a "director " was being. Her personal opinion on my decision to be poked or not shouldn't determine my eligibility to be assisted especially after I had already been approved. She then went on the threaten to close out my case and refuse assistance to me and hung up. It is sad when hard working people like myself cannot get help but the lazy unemployed can. I am a hardworking single mom who fell on hard times when my daughter caught covid from a classmate causing me to miss work. SHAME ON YOU JUDY RORRIE |
