When it comes to free services I guess it's ok. I wasn't prepared for the anti Trans things they'd do to me like take my bra, call me sir, and not allow me to wear my female clothes. Th beds were so close it wasn't as comforting as I had hoped. The food was certainly good though and the meals weren't disappointing. But other than the food, they forced us to have 2 religious hours or we couldn't sleep there or eat there And I wasn't a fan of that. Also wasn't a fan of the dirty bathrooms.

Horrible place, staff is verbally abusive, and will start an argument with you. They do not help with real job placement. The curfew is 4pm, they spread false gossip, and will tell you you are not saved by Christ regardless of your religious background. Will lock people up on the third floor if you have ever done drugs in your past even if you stopped on your own. They will not let you work to get on your feet if you fail to meet any of their standards.

I have seen many people go to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission, find employment, save thousands, and relocate months later into permanent housing. I have heard stories from many people who have rebuilt their lives after completing the alcohol and drug abuse recovery program called New Journey. Some of the most heartwarming stories that brought me to tears came from men who were suicidal who told me that the Milwaukee Rescue Mission had saved their lives! The Milwaukee Rescue Mission have rebuilt broken lives time and time again and restored hope to thousands that struggled with addiction, chronic homelessness, mental health challenges, low or no income, joblessness, incarceration, evictions, family conflict, and so much more. Each program has curriculum blueprinted to rebuild broken lives! The hospitality is awesome. This may be the best shelter in the State of Wisconsin and the impact is comforting.
