Forcing parents by monopoly through the court to take this class is unfair. The class is also very traumatizing to DV survivors who just filed for divorce and now are forced to take this forced co parenting rhetoric class. There is no "co parenting" with abusive men and this forced class upon me was very traumatic to endure after just filing for divorce through Maine court. The information is dangerous to survivors of Dv and although kids first offers a women's class for survivors the maine courts force the regular class upon every single person thus making this a for profit scheme and capitalizing and making divorce a big buisness monopoly. I wouldn't be surprised if the board members of kids first are judges or attornies in maine. This class has been discontinued in Massachusetts as it's been proven harmful to DV survivors. MAINE courts need to catch up on intimate partner abuse help and up to date information on coparenting studies.
