Called trying to stay calm in a desperate time in my life for temporary shelter for me and my three children. The woman who answered the phone said "We're full." That's it. No care. No concern. Very cold. Way to make someone who feels bad even worse.

Rude receptionist , dismissive and careless. They should really teach compassion to these individuals before they hire them. It’s clear a lot of these shelter employees don’t give a damn about families in need . People like NORA loves jobs with “authority” because it gives them an escape to ridicule and dismiss folks because she feels “entitled” too.

Nora is absolutely NOT at Evangel Homes to do any work for Christ. I called to do an intake and she became extremely accusatory, rude, and outright refused to provide me with the continuation of my intake, citing a rotation of "reasons" why I was not qualified. As far as I can see, Evangel Homes is to serve anyone in need of shelter and they appear to have multiple programs. Nasty Nora was moody and instead of remaining compassionate and professional, she decided to make her communication with me contemptuously personal for the benefit of her own desire to be 'the boss.' She refused to grant my requests for a supervisor/ the director, first claiming that no one else was there then saying, today is a holiday. I inquired of her what holiday it was. Then she developed another sheisty excuse and said, I'm it. I'm the boss. I asked again for her name and she dismissed me with oh, you have a bad attitude and we can't help you. She also made a remark, oh, you didn't tell me you were not from Fresno, which should not have any bearing on the availability or willingness to assist me as a child of God in need of shelter and support.She hung up the phone on me. I called at least three times later and asked to speak with Sarah Dawson, the apparent director. Nora (still unidentified then) answered and immediately said oh I can't help you and hung up. The next time, she answered and immediately hung up. I called later today around 4 p.m. and she said, Evangel Homes, this is Nora . She recognized my voice, after letting the cat out of the bag and hung up. Jesus is watching!!!! The cross has the final say. I guarantee it.
