this place is a misleading organization. you go in to do paperwork & wait for your turn just to be told in a week you will receive a phone call. weeks go by & you hear nothing. unless you have a court ordered eviction notice in hand, you will go months without hearing anything because the organization prioritizes immediate evictions over everyone else. they take daily eviction notices too, so let’s say you’ve been waiting months but ppl keep coming in with immediate evictions, they get priority over you. they will not take late notices as priority. i am a student social worker in need of help during a period of my life where i am struggling, so to say i understand limited funding is true, but it is extremely misleading to say that someone will call you in a week after filing for assistance. you cannot get in contact with any case worker over the phone or email. do not plan to get help from this place unless you have an emergency eviction notice.

I went to this place for assistance for my rent and utilities on July 11, mind you i dont get government assistance, child support, nothing. All I have is my income and I just need a little help with all the prices being raised on everything so this place was recommended. I had everything I needed and turned in all the required documents and was told that I would receive a call back if not by the end of week, the following week, since it’s based on whom needs services right away but not to worry because I will hear from someone before my eviction date. I have not heard a word from anyone since. No phone calls emails nothing. I’ve called 4 times and left messages and no one has returned my calls. My eviction notice was for august 8th and it is now august 11 and now I’m having to jump through hoops to try to keep a roof over my son and I head. If this place is supposed to help it would have been nice to actually get the assistance I still need or at least been told they couldn’t help so i could try to figure something else out.

The lady at the window who handles the applications an let's people in was just a sweet heart an the ladies inside the free store I think her name was Jackie was just awesome she is just a sweet heart alone with the other lady but there was one lady who was just rude as hell it was my 1st time there an she was just mean as hell!!!! But the rest was just amazing!!!!! Thank you for all that you ladies do!!!

I applied for help with my light bill in June. I never recieved a call from a caseworker. I turned in all my paperwork and application. They said i didnt have to do anything else but wait for a caseworker to call. July came I am thinking my light bill was paid. I called duke power just to hear that my lights wss gonna be disconnected on the 25th. They never paid it or got in contact with me. At least they couldve called or sent a letter informing me that they were not gonna help me. I called every day and no one every return my phone call. Worst service every in helping people. 8/9/2022 just got and interview from someone at crisis. They will make go thru hoops now to just get help. Now I have to bring more information and proof of this.and that just to get help. Dam my lights will be cut off by then. If u want help. All your utility or rent has to be already cut off or you already pad locked. Smh

May this place have many more successes Thank you so much for helping with my situation that abruptly arrived at your door anyone that I know I will be referring the rest is just left up to faith in prayer and it has to be non-stop Three times a day should be suffice but I am sincerely appreciative Thank you so much! 💐💐💐💐💐
