I'm homeless . First time ever. And I have a job of 2 years I can't work and get out of this situation because I can't get a permanent bed at a shelter. They say they do this by lottery but that's clearly a lie because the lady told me I haven't signed up everyday that they look for consistency . So she pretty much told me that it isn't luck of the draw they monitor who's signing up and how often . That's not a lottery , that's hand picking . You'd think they would want someone with a job and income to fill a spot rather than a crack smoker who's not going to work at all . So they lie about the lottery. That's just not right . I'm going to lose my job because of them . So instead of helping me they have made it worse for me .

Great for the homeless. But as usual some people are doing drugs right on the property!

Back in 2013, I was homeless and hungry. During that time, I relied on UMC for food and drink for a time. I can honestly say that I was greeted with a smile, a nonjudgmental demeanor, and a hefty plate with every visit. I just wanted to stop by and say that I appreciate you guys for what you did for me and what you do for the community. I can proudly say that I now have a great paying job and a home. God bless. 💪🏾
