The Center for Safety and change works tirelessly on behalf of people in need. We are so fortunate as a community to have them. I cannot say enough good things.

Horrible shelter they treat u like u are in jail idk how it’s still even open tbh

I’m not sure about the organization itself but the woman shelter is horrible, I will start off saying how at first I felt welcomed for the first 2 weeks. Then the rest of my stay was uncomfortable, mainly from the staff. I felt that they were bullies, rude and very inconsiderate over anyone feelings. The Nit picking, attitude and destroying someone character. Being there made me brake down several times because I felt like I was walking on egg shells at this place. The house wasn’t in order at all people wasn’t doing there chores, was letting there children touch others belongings, running into others rooms, coming into the restrooms without knocking, running around with no adult in the room sometimes. I was accused for things I didn’t do, & if I make a mistake I get judge harshly for it. During the middle of my stay I was told I had to pay an amount. which I never was told in the beginning, I was pressure to sign papers if I wasn’t i think I would’ve been kicked out sooner , While I was struggling to go to work & trying to found a place, and transportation being very expensive I still manage to go to meetings, DSS, and do my chores/cook. The director was very disrespectful towards me and others several times, rushing me out the bathroom telling people I have places to be and a aggressive anger, then when I had my days off and when I came downstairs to relax, & watch tv, I had to hear staff complain about the chores that didn’t get done by my roommates or hear problems when I come in as if I should do them. I’m not the only one that feels this way theres other girls that I still contacted that told me what this shelter did to them. So don’t be fooled by the high ratings. This place does help in someways I cannot complain about the free food, nice rooms, the decent house, DSS, and Some assistance’s . But the staff is rude, & comes off very cruel. This place is suppose to be soooo helpful but want to ridicule people. I was told I was something that IM NOT! Im not being despiteful, Im speaking from the heart, I wasn’t sure to review this, because I don’t want to seem rude, but god will bless me. God knows me despite what ( some of the staff) made me out to be. Some where nice and positive others where not, and they need to work on there attitude, and the way they talk to people! But still I’m thankful for the stay because im not a cruel human being just because I rate 2 stars. I’m still thankful to have some whereto be for a while to at least not worry about a place over my head or food at the time 👌🏽 Not only there’s more, things I did not mentioned about this place & decided not to speak on it because there’s still so much that happened within my stay there. I do not want anyone from this organization to contact me or speak to me, this is my review how I feel, it is what it is JUST BENEFIT FROM THIS REVEIW, and work on staffing to make this organization BETTER!. It’s okay for some others and this shelter that may have benefited from it but I know a lot haven’t, and I’m one of them! This place benefited me and some ways & some ways it didn’t. As Said I leave it off with this. 😌

Nice, courteous and understanding but most of all soooooo affordable.
