Care Net Preg Ctr of Hudson Valley

I have been to this pregnancy center before and rated it well. Sadly, I am going to revise my review from the experience I had years ago and base this rating off of my most recent experience. While certain positive aspects still apply (friendly staff, nice facility), I recognized some red flags with my recent visit. The first thing you should know before visiting is that this is NOT a health center. They are not held to the standards of any health facilities regarding liability, education, or your privacy. If you want to know your pregnancy options, this is not a substitute for visiting a doctor or Planned Parenthood. This is more akin to visiting a church for guidance. During my recent visit, I noted a few red flags. 1) During my ultrasound, they will only print pictures of the embryo accompanied by such phrases as "Hi Mom"; a blatant manipulation of anyone considering her actual health options, such as abortion. To clarify, I was never asked if I wanted the "Hi Mom" nor given the option. It was automatic. 2) They suggested that I am considerably less pregnant than my last period would suggest. Another common manipulation to make women believe they have more time than is actually true to consider her options, such as abortion. 3) Their "ultrasound tech" (trained only by this non-health facility) said she wouldn't have any availability to see me for another 4-5 weeks, which is suspicious considering that for 2 weeks in a row, they were receptive to getting me in for an appointment promptly, if not same day. I suspect it is another tactic for them to run down the clock if a woman is considering her options. This is an anti-abortion establishment. If you have made the informed decision for yourself, or through the guidance of healthcare professionals operating within a healthcare facility, to carry your pregnancy to term; then this may be a great resource for you. They seem to provide maternity clothing and clothing for babies; newborn-12m. I'm okay with their cause. I am not okay with women being duped into a false sense of security that this is a healthcare facility operated by trained professionals, or being manipulated and provided misinformation concerning their health. Just be aware that if you seek counsel, your circumstance will not be unique to them. This establishment's agenda is nothing other than to talk you out of having an abortion. It's very disappointing. I had thought this pregnancy center was one of the few good ones, prior to this experience. They weren't adding text over the ultrasound pictures, etc. Fortunately, I am informed on the risks that come along with these facilities enough to recognize the red flags when I see them.
