Abba Women's Center

I felt led to reach out to Abba Women's Center for help when I was between jobs, and awaiting a background check recently. The front desk attendant, Nelda Luster, was very darling and sweet. She offered to take me in temporarily in exchange for help around her home. Although I know she meant well, it was not met well with her son who acted out angrily and irrationally to me in person. He made me feel very unsafe and I believe she may be mistreated, and possibly be in an unsafe and harmful/possibly abusive situation with his controlling personality. I called the manager of Abba, Melony, who when mentioned sided with this man, stating he may have been concerned for his mother, not realizing how it may be for the person who is on the receiving end. When we are in between things, homelessness, etc, we have already dealt with abuse, and do not need to encounter any further when asking and hoping for help, especially when we thought that God himself was answering a prayer for both me at the time, and Miss Nelda, to get the help she needed. She mentioned needing help around the home, and having difficulty getting things done. We were both wanting to help one another, never did I expect to be yelled at by her heartless and awful son, who showed himself to be more like the devil, than anything kind dear Nelda is. It is truly sad. I intend to share these details with the county, as I believe there is some unsafe goings-on within that family dynamic. This might be exactly why God led me to her.

Great place To get help when you've got little ones! They give you a free diaper bag free diapers free wipes free baby food just about anything you can think of also give you a voucher to go next door to the thrift store and pick out something for yourself!

Wonderful place assisting pregnant soon to be mommies. They help with sonogram and diapers. The thrift store is always reasonable.
