Grace Remner rated 1 5 months ago My family stayed here for a time while we were homeless and we had to walk on eggshells the entire time because they were looking for any excuse to throw us out. They helped the other women staying there find housing and jobs but my mom was basically on her own in that regard. They threw us out a few days after thanksgiving because a little girl who was staying with her mother was getting into trouble on Thanksgiving day and because my sister and the girl shared similar names they assumed it was her even though we literally signed out to leave for the day and didn’t come back until it was time to go to bed; they didn’t care and still threw us out with zero remorse and zero advice on place we could go that would take us in. Hopefully someday somebody in this county does the work to make a place where families down on their luck can go stay and get help getting back on their feet. |
Lisa J rated 5 a year ago This Center is a place for all women and children included.
The guidance I received and just to have someone to talk to me about a tragic event and I know guidance and help will get me through this awful time.
Counseling and Therapy has my mind at ease in knowing that the Woman’s Center in Beaver County are amazing people.
Everything is confidential and that’s so helpful as well. |
Trevor Megoloff rated 5 3 years ago I have never had to stay here. I can tell you my boyfriend and I have donated clothing and goods and toys for children for the past 2 years. Last year they sent a nice letter expressing their gratitude. I like this organization because they help women and children in Beaver County. I encourage you to go to their website. They can always use donations and appreciate anything you are willing to donate. The website gives more details on what they are in need of this holiday season. |
Eclectic Medley rated 5 4 years ago I cannot express enough the amazing services the Womens Center offers. From advocacy at the court house with PFA's, safe and secure shelter if needed, counseling for both mom and children and the caring and wonderful supportive staff that work there to support, help and serve the needs of women and children. Domestic violence and sexual assault robe and destroy people and families but please know that if you are in this situation or ever find yourself in one, they can help. The therapy and programs I have been part of have been a huge part of my own personal healing and because of this I will forever be an advocate for them in my own way. |
Lisa Sharp rated 2 4 years ago My daughter and her two kids are homeless and her ID was lost. The agency she was going to for help to find a place didn't tell her at first that they wouldn't open a file for her and start helping her find a place without an ID. Her time at the shelter is up and she and her children are out. They don't care either. I have a very small efficiency apartment and it's with the housing authority so I can't have them here and it breaks my heart. Her boyfriend is useless. Aparrently there are no other shelters fo women but there are plently for men. Why? |
