This is one of the most unprofessional places I have ever received counseling at. For starters, my counselor Alana told me her other clients traumas and stories in detail. It felt like I was her therapist at one point. To make matters worse, this place also offers group therapy so it’s not hard to put 2 and 2 together and figure out who she was talking about. People talk and I hate to find out others may know about my NDE and trauma like this is some high school cafeteria full of means girls and gossip. She also was pushing her political beliefs down my throat about the pandemic and roe vs wade. Literally soon as I walked in she was dumping all her personal opinions on me. I’m not sure what that lady had going on but there was no excuse for her unprofessionalism. Unfortunately I was in a really dark space at the time and wish I would’ve ran out of there sooner but I was desperate for help. Guess you get what you pay for. Cheap counseling calls for cheap unprofessional treatment. There’s nothing like having trauma from going to an unethical counselor who is suppose to help with healing trauma.

They will not give you fair treatment if you were a man I called them with all my problems and they told me what type of help do I want I don’t know you’re the one that is supposed to help victims of domestic violence they should keep the name woman space because this place is only for women if you’re a man find somebody else they don’t care! Woman I spoke to on the phone was an idiot did not want to help me and was mad because I said if I was a woman more would be done when it’s true that it is called woman in space for a reason and keep it that way do not say you’re here for men and women when you’re not here for a minute all you guys not help me one bit I guess when you’re male domestic violence does it matter to them.

I wouldn't recommend it. Super disorganized, unhelpful screening, unhelpful follow-up, very triggering. None of the kindness and understanding I have experienced at other county's facilities. None of the willingness or interest to help.

This place is awesome. Alana, my therapist and group counselor is like none other. She doesn't hone in on you like a crow, rather she seems to provide the space for you to self-reflect, self-evaluate, and have "aha" moments after "aha" moments. Alana communicates with respect, passion, and true integrity. I feel I'm able to let my guard down in her presence, which is something I don't easily do, especially after having been betrayed and hurt so much in the past. Like so many others, I swore I had life all figured out, but still seemed to be in this daily fog, confusion, and sadness. Participating in group discussions and attending therapy immediately garnered a new type of growth in my world. Growth that seemed more natural and effective than in my past therapy experiences; yet I've only just begun! It's nice to not have to explain myself over and over again because Alana gets it even before I say it! Never before have I felt such great comfort in making a commitment towards my healing. No going back! On my 44th birthday I decided to recommit to me and my well being. Starting my journey with Womanspace has been a true blessing in my life. -Peg

I left woman's space a completely different person than when I arrived. They provide a safe environment so that you can become yourself again. Every staff member is different and have their own style of giving you a hand up but all of them trully care about every woman and child that comes thru their program. I will forever be gratefull for all of them.
