West Tennessee Legal Services provides an important service to the community, but my experience was very frustrating and disappointing. I worked with Dana, and she canceled most of our scheduled meetings, which made it very difficult to move forward with my case. On August 22, 2025, she texted me at 10:30 a.m. stating she would be at the building to meet me at 11:00 a.m. When she arrived, she repeated everything that Mark Reid had said, even though what he stated was not true. When I tried to show them the problems in my apartment, including serious living conditions, I was told that the issues were simply because the building was old. My concerns were not properly addressed or taken seriously. Dana also told me that she did not see any bedbug bites on me, even though I was actively dealing with bedbugs at the time and had visible bites. Overall, I felt dismissed and unsupported. Consistent communication, listening to clients, and acknowledging health and safety concerns are extremely important, especially for people seeking legal aid. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.
