Adore this place. Have been attending since 2017 when I discovered the Porch and have member now for years. Love the teaching style -- TA has been a huge blessing to this church. I've enjoyed my time in community groups as well as different classes offered, whether you attend Watermark or not. Certainly not the stereotypical Megachurch we all think of. Highly recommend if you are searching for a church home.

I attended Watermark Community Church for almost a year while homeless, even cultivating a personal friendship with Parker Primrose who I met at Our Calling. As a representative of the church under their Community Outreach program, he professed that the lynchpin of his faith being the idea that Jesus Christ was the Son of God, he did a good job of bringing his Bible every time I met him, but at the end of the day he was ineffectual and negligent in his duties as a part of the church staff. His careless attitude while dealing with the lives of people entrusted to him led to a church constituent Magdalena, being placed in danger at the hands of a predator at Our Calling. This young woman came all the way from Poland and sacrificed time and energy to minister to the homelees in a city and country that wasn’t even hers. She practiced actual Christianity while all the well-paid employees did absolutely nothing but collect a paycheck. If your ever gave money to this church, ask for a refund. This is a picture of my home as I write this.

I was deeply involved in multiple ministries / programs here (including new moms’ groups, marriage ministry, community groups, mentor couple, and serving). I was also a “member”. My experience was that individuals placed in counseling type and leadership roles were not correctly trained or equipped for the level of influence they exercised. When I later needed help going through my divorce and intense custody battle as a SAHM to a young child, the same people who had encouraged and subtly required deep personal disclosure were no longer present or supportive or willing to help. I also raised concerns about unbiblical and harmful teachings, , including books in community group which included messages that minimize women’s agency and safety. Such as “Married Sex” where the author likens turning down your husband’s sex “needs” to not feeding a hungry newborn at night. Attempts to discuss these concerns respectfully were met with dismissal and accusation. If you are in a harmful marriage or experiencing any form of abuse, please be careful. Marriage is a covenant between two people, and it takes only one person to break it. Harm can take many forms, including financial control, sexual coercion, physical, emotional, or spiritual. Please be cautious of any organization - claiming to be the church or otherwise - that minimizes these realities. Churches that prioritize preserving “marriage” over the spiritual, mental, emotional, physical, financial safety of women and children can cause serious harm. I share this in the hope of protecting others.
