I thank God for this place! I currently reside here and I appreciate everything they have done for me. This is one of the hardest times in my entire life to go through a divorce, domestic violence, and to live in a shelter

I remember when I was a kid around 1992, my mom took us here after fleeing Caliente from her abusive husband. We stayed here about a week or two. Shade Tree gave her a job, but it was like a dollar an hr. Right after that, I think she got on Section 8. We moved into a house in North Las Vegas.

The Shade Tree Shelter
1 West Owens North Las Vegas
Located in an ultra-shady zone, some type of Skid Row LA , I was at their gate (recommended by local 211) and they rejected me, stating that they did not do any type of new shelter tenants. Date was Friday May 2, 2025.
A black lady came at the closed gate to explain to me their status, said her name was "Hamilton", they were not accepting any take-in's -- due to 'some construction' (those were her exact words) .
She handed me a piece of paper with additional shelter "references" and sent me on my way ! I was there with a taxi driver, so he is my witness, in case it is needed by authorities.

P.S. The reviews protocol does not allow zero stars, so I had to pick one.
