If can give zero stars, i would. This place will not help you. I called The Safe Place after an incident when I had to call the police on my abuser. I called the Safe Place about a week after the incident against me, to see if they offered any type of free counseling services for myself to start on my healing journey. The woman on the phone asked for my contact information and my story of what happened. After telling her, she informed me that since my child was home at the time I was physically abused, she was mandated to report ME to CPS. So, now I am under investigation by CPS, although I was the only victim here of domestic violence. This place caused me more trouble and more stress. They did not help me one bit. They are useless. They created more problems for me and my innocent child who does not want to talk to or see strangers from CPS. HORRIBLE PLACE AND WORKERS. STAY AWAY AND JUST HELP YOURSELF.

Awful place with disgusting employees who lack empathy or professionalism. Whoever hired Aubrey to answer the phones and give out information made a grave mistake. She shouldn’t have a job working with people in need or who are suffering. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

Wow, I can’t believe that I was just treated this way, so nasty and unprofessional, and this place is going to help me? omg. Ok let me start from the beginning. I was trying to go onto their website to find out more about their sessions, counseling and hours and it kept redirecting me to download some video thing, which I didn’t. So I finally got the courage up to stop in there and see if I could get any material about the sessions. I put address in gps and it took me to the east side and not where they are located, so I called to see exactly where they are because I was right there. So whomever answered the phone (she wouldn’t even give me her name), I explained to her what had happened and she said we are closed. I said I thought you closed at 8:00 and it’s only 7:30, I just wanted to pick up material. She said no sorry no one is here and we are closed. She wouldn’t give me the address either. I said well I can’t just come by to pick up flyers. She said nope. I then asked her, her name and she said why, I said I just would like to know, what is your name. I asked her 4 times and she was just getting nastier and nastier. I then said to her wow this is how you help someone that’s is in a situation and is looking for help, you just turn them away and is nasty. She said oh are you in a crisis situation, I said well obviously I’m in a bad situation that I’m reaching out to you guys. She said hold before I could even finish my sentence and transferred me to the hotline, which the girl was very nice. So now here I finally got the courage up to reach out and I was just pushed away and left a horrible first impression of this place. Obviously this girl doesn’t know what it’s like. Whoever is the manager, who ever the girl who worked answering the phones on May 9, 2019 at 7:30 pm should not be working there. For her to not give me her name, she knew she wasn’t doing the right thing. If you guys truly want to help us then you want warm, genuine people working for you not this person.
