Each person I have spoken with here has been so gentle and kind. They’ve helped move mountains in my life when I felt like it was too much. My heart goes out to them. Thank you

The Susan B. Anthony Project in Torrington is truly something special. It’s run by an amazing group of women who lead with compassion, strength, and an unwavering commitment to helping others. From the moment you walk through their doors, you can feel the care and intention behind everything they do. What I admire most is how their programs are thoughtfully designed to not just provide temporary help, but to truly uplift people and set them up for long-term success. They understand that real change takes the right kind of support—encouragement, structure, resources, and motivation—and they offer all of that in a way that feels empowering, not limiting. It’s also clear that every dollar donated is used wisely and purposefully. They go above and beyond with the resources they have, and you can trust that your support is making a real, lasting impact. We’re lucky to have such a dedicated, heart-driven organization in our community.

Being a SA victim is not something a lot of people can deal with. But traumatically I will say that I am disgusted with Susan B. Anthony Project. I have never been more upset with them in my life like this. They claim how they can help you, but I feel like they didn’t do anything. The advocates act like we can talk to them. But when you do they just criticize you. And if you don’t have housing plan they basically will just throw you out on the streets. They did it to my roommate and I will say it was the WORST thing they could’ve done. And this place needs better staff. It was an awful two months of my life. And I will never want help if this is how they treat me when I need help. If you suffer from domestic violence and mental health do not go here! They don’t give you any support!
