Founded in 1980, the San Antonio Food Bank serves one of the largest service areas in Southwest Texas. Our focus is for clients to have food for today but to also have the resources to be self-sufficient in the future.

Cucumbers and broccoli and 6 mangos. Is what we got, and don't get me wrong I'm grateful I see it has some broccoli and cheese and a mango and cucumber smoothie. What about the family that doesn't have a blender or cheese to put on the broccoli or Lucas to put on cucumbers, how they going to feed this to there children. Come on San Antonio Food bank do better, then you give out resources where the number on most of them are not in service. I'm curious to where is all the food you'll get but then turn around and give us a vegetarian meal! Excuse me not a meal because even vegetarians get carbs, oatmeal rice and food that would actually keep them from being hungry!

I only go once a year so that there's enough for everyone... today was so sad. I was given tomatoes, pineapple and hot chips...
No beans... No rice... no meat... no potatoes, no onions. I was really shocked at what they gave for a family of 4. Oh and a case of syrup I can't use. 😔 i'm the most grateful person alive, and I cannot believe this is what they're doing to families that need help, like I said, I only go to the food bank once a year, and even when I got there, the man that is handling the parking is very aggressive and kept screaming and yelling. That's not cool, especially with elderly that's driving, you can scare them it can cause an accident. I was wondering, where's the fire guy ... stay calm.

It's a great place to give your resources whether that is monetary support or just volunteering your time. We had a great day with Chosen 4 Service ministry helping out at the SA Food bank.
