San Antonio Food Bank

Well organization and set up to serve a large quantity in a short time. I volunteered in the curbside area. Staff and other volunteers were very friendly. Shade canopy to yield the Texas sun and water was provided. We were welcomed, instructed, and provided guidance through the day. It was a great volunteer opportunity and I look forward to serving the community again.

***Truck drivers only*** Appointment only I got a 2pm appointment.. they told me if we can get you in early will call almost 1pm and nothing. They do open at 5am so you can check in good luck drivers.

I have been conflicted about posting a review against this place due to the fact that I get and completely understand their mission. Im all for it I do what can as well. Now with that said I just have to come on out and say it. Shame on you guys. Was this you cleaning out your warehouse? I went there to get help. We're all aware of what's going on with inflation and government shutdown so I go to get help. Im thinking,ok I'm gonna get to make dinner tonight. What meal for 3 kids can I make with a box of lettuce,a box of papaya a box of squash? That's what I got today. As well as 8 bags of chicpeas,5 bags of black beans,6 cans of sugary pears,a case of fried apples in a can. Screw desserts I need food. Also a case of milk juice boxes which were EXPIRED. EXPIRED I TELL YOU. Can't make a meal of any of that. 2 bags of apples and 4 of those apples were rotten. Apple overload. Again were they cleaning out the warehouse, out with old in with new? I have volunteered there and know they could have done better.
