This place is a disgrace. They pick and choose who they help, and who they don't. If you meet their expectations on what a domestic violence victim should look like then they offer you shelter, but don't expect anything beyond that. They refer you to St. Vinny's, where at least they treat everyone equally. They make up stories, saying their shelter is full, when I can verify that it actually wasn't. I am going to file a complaint against this organization because they are supposed to be helping anyone who has experienced this, not selecting who they feel like helping and telling everyone else to kick rocks. Places like this that receive Federal money are not supposed to be operating like this.
I can also point out that the 5 star reviews are not coming from people who have received help here, but rather people who WORK here, like Ms. Jaeger for instance. Guess that's one way to try and offset the real reviews.

I would not donate money to this shelter. They do very little in the way of actually helping the women who stay there, beyond providing a roof over their heads. They don't help you access any other local resources, and basically refer you to St. Vincent for any type of meaningful help. They give you a maximum of 30 days to find a job that pays 3× what the rental prices are for this area, which are extremely high. At the end of 30 days, they have no problem putting you back on the streets. Basically it's shelter. Beyond that you'll need to figure everything else out on your own. I pray for myself and every other woman who has had to go through this experience when this is the only resource available to them in this area. It's just not possible to rebuild a life while dealing with trauma in 30 days with zero help.

Great organization, the advocates go above and beyond for their clients and is super supportive in times of need. Would recommend anyone experiencing DV or other situations from it to reach out.
