They kicked my friend out for being 2 minutes late to curfew because her ride was late. She literally is homeless and is escaping an abusive situation. This is insane, so much for helping people, God forbid you be a literal 2 MINUTES late for something that wasn’t even your fault. (And no I wasn’t the ride that was late)

If you are in a dangerous situation please come here. But please read this for guidance. To experience something like domestic violence is overwhelming. I came here with an injured arm and a concussion + a 7 month old baby. I was nervous checking in. I left my child with a safe person and took a day to recover due to my concussion. There was minimal follow up which is something every woman talked about that was there. That essentially they showed up, checked in and were left to figure out things from there with minimal help. I experienced the same. Which is unfortunate. Also, keep in mind I had a 7 month old- eventually they let a woman live with me that was detoxing from meth, bi-polar and had just changed meds, on drug court- with 2 assault charges. It is completely negligent on behalf of Safe Harbor to pair someone detoxing etc. with a 7 month old baby. (I have no issues with the woman, bless her and her journey, I’m happy she is safe.) I had to leave my baby with my sister which I did not want to do and eventually left Safe Harbor putting me back in a really tough position in life. The way they dismissed me about my concerns is unforgivable. Just because a situation happens on a weekend, doesn’t mean you should wait until Monday. People, especially babies- deserve safety, especially after experiencing DV. Do better. No excuses.
