The way the staff, especially in leadership, treat their staff and clients is absolutely awful. It's sad that I saw their budget is being cut down on the news, but in all honestly, this place should have been looked into years ago for the way those women staff treat each other and the clients. There are other women shelters in the area that treat the clients so much better so im hoping the money goes to them so the clients can get the treatment they deserve. Im not sure who sits on this companies board, but they would be horrified if they knew how the women they hire actually are as human beings and how they treat one another, for being a so called "women's empowerment" program. Absolutely distasteful & horrifying. It starts at the top & lingers down to all.

Gave a 1 star because I could not do less. They are unprofessional, disorganized, dirty, and the staff go in power trips and take advantage of the situations of these women that need the help to kick them out at night in the rain. Research other places but Safe Berks is a joke that don’t care about anyones situations. I have seen shelters treat dogs better than this place. I’m so sorry for the women here having to deal with this mess of a place!

I love this place. It not only provides shelter to victims of domestic violence, but it also offers support groups, legal support, resource coordination, counseling and much more. They empower all those struggling and guide them to find a way out of pain to independence. I so grateful to Maria and to all the team who go the extra mile to assist the served population.
