Prairie State Legal Services - Bloomington Office

If I could ward zero stars I would certainly do so. I reside on the East side of Bloomington in a home I inherited after the death of my Father. Instead of selling the property I opted to go ahead and live in it. The water in my neighborhood is well water and the 'company' is privately owned. I have always paid the water bill in a timely manner...always. However, I have not received a bill since November, 2024. There is no way to contact the owner of the water company, by the way...none. Yesterday I received a bill demanding $770 or my water would be summarily shut off!!! I actually only owe $350, which I would be happy to pay once I obtain gainful employment. I am currently unemployed but anticipate that situation being short-lived. I called Prairie Legal, followed their automated service, only to be informed that the voicemail was full and I should call back later. I have no recourse. My water is due to be turned off very shortly. How am I to cook and bathe? Just save yourself a lot of headache and heartache and find a private attorney because Prairie Legal will not help you. There is no way to contact them other than their 'phone number and the automated menu.

I don't know why all the bad reviews. I spoke with one of the lawyers yesterday (07-08-2024 and was very expressed with the help and knowledge she had about the issue I have! This service is wonderful and helpful! Thank you so much! Very professional, God bless!

They send you through an impossible phone tree, and then no one picks up. The workers are also rude in person. They will say they can't help you and tell you to leave after you tell them what you need assistance with. Ok, maybe they can't help, but the lady at the front didn't have to be snippy about it.
