E Luna rated 5 2 months ago The receptionist, secretary over the phone and Esq. Elizabeth Hurley were great people to deal with when I was going thru a worried eviction day order. I always come to this office before I go to any lawyer which charges and many times don't give peace of mind. They are free in most cases. Just give them a try you won't regret. |

Eartha franklin rated 5 6 months ago It took me some time to write this review as every-time I started writing it I became overwhelmed.
I am the Legal Guardian & Grandmother of a 9-year old w/special needs and as a result was having a difficult time in the Jersey City school district. After advocating for him and fighting to no end, my back was up against the wall as he kept getting suspended because they didn’t understand his disabilities.
Earlier this year I heard about Northeast New Jersey Legal Services and went through their thorough acceptance process. Once approved, I was assigned to attorney Michelle A. Newton, Esq. whose specialty is Education & Benefits.
Michelle & I met in person in the Jersey City office and a several times via phone to discus my grandsons background, needs and educational challenges with the district.
After all facts were gathered she went to work. I had an open due process case against the district at the State level which she tackled first and successfully. Then she reviewed the districts proposed IEP, line by line-word for word, and pushed back on several items. She worked with me to propose educational additions and changes that were suited for my grandsons needs. She never let up. While everyone else was enjoying their summer, Michelle was working on behalf of me & my grandson to ensure when school resumed he would be set up for success.
Now that school is in process, she checks in to see how he’s doing and reviews any new IEPs placed before me.
I am literally crying as I write this because no one knows the struggles I’ve been through on behalf of my grandson. Michelle is a Godsend and it’s without a doubt there’s a star in heaven with her name on it.
Thank you Northeast New Jersey Legal Services for employing the best of the best.
Michelle I will forever hold dear what you’ve done for my grandson. Continue to walk tall in your purpose. |
