I have participated in several Nassau County events and each one has been a tribute to the diverse talents of the community and empowering for every individual involved. The organizers always show up professionally and more importantly it’s clear they are leading from the heart! The energy is dynamic, inclusive and for the people by the people. For the Puerto Rican Day Parade - I really enjoyed the youth dancers leading the way! I also loved that they featured a local female artist with new music (“baila”) which was perfect for the day and also a Puerto Rican Olympic Skateboarder! It was high energy, inspiring and represented the aspects of community that I wish we experienced more of these days. So much gratitude to Melissa Figueroa for your leadership and Melissa Bonilla for your talents and vocal gifts! Until next time 😊

It was an honor to support and celebrate our heritage with Melissa Figueroa, Melissa Bonilla and the team they put together! The organization and energy brought to the PR Parade is still carrying my spirits and I am in awe of the dedication this organization puts towards lifting up our community. Wepaaaa!
