Nashville Rescue Mission

I was only at Nashville Rescue Mission for a couple of days, and it was like being in jail. There were bedbugs everywhere, people fought over blankets and beds, and staff would kick you out of your assigned bed in the middle of the night. You’d be outside for hours in freezing weather. The bathroom stalls were wide open, so you could see people showering, and the staff were incredibly rude and abusive. It was a mentally and physically draining experience. No one should be forced to stay there; it needs to be shut down or completely reformed.

The staff of men are completely disrespectful and prejudice as well as racist. I was lied to several times within one day of being there. I made the mistake of leaving without my paperwork but they could have used the last 4 of my social security number but they didn't do that at all. They didn't allow me into the building, however they allowed a white man who just literally arrived there without ANY paperwork inside the building. I'm a darker skinned man by the way so of course prejudice and racism played a part in that. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE BEING HERE AT ALL 🚩

Helping the less fortunate was more than a business there. It was a new way of life giving others hope. Love the different choirs especially the one with the little girl singing " in the belly of the Whale "
