I was a client in 2013 for 2 appointments. What occurred was traumatic, to say the least, and I'd give 0 stars if I could. At the time, I was a devout Christian in an abusive parental household, I was engaged (we were supposed to marry 6mos prior, but could not get an officiant on board because I was non-denom, and he was Catholic), I was very early in a wanted but unexpected pregnancy, I was uninsured and low income, and I needed a positive pregnancy test to begin care with my midwife. At the behest of my mother, I went here rather than to PP. It should have been easy, it should have been a relieving and exciting day. Instead, as soon as they had my pee stick in hand, I was accused of wanting an abortion, locked in a room, interrogated for over an hour about my faith, or rather lack of, and was refused release or my test results until I spoke the Sinners Prayer. No amount of "I'm already a believer and I'm NOT here for an abortion! I need this for my midwife!" would make them stop until I was crying and capitulated to the prayer just to get out and get what I needed. I was offered baby's first ultrasound if I came back about a week later, and, having been honestly used to that kind of abuse at the time, I accepted. What I got was two technicians who seemed to have no idea what they were doing, how to read gestational age, or how to operate either a regular or vaginal wand ultrasound. I almost pushed one of them, because the amount of pressure they were putting on my abdomen and internally on my cervix had me very concerned it may cause harm to my pregnancy. I was never once offered any other services to aid in prenatal care, or in parenting, or even in diapering once she was here. I went in well aware this was not a professional medical facility like a real clinic, I just needed a pregnancy test... but I at LEAST expected ONE *actual* nurse as advertised, and to at least be believed when I said I was not interested in an abortion. Well, that fetus is now a middle schooler, all thanks to ME, my MIDWIFE, my SPOUSE, partially to WIC (who my midwife referred me to) for keeping me fed through all the hyperemesis, and no one at this hellhole.

Mend is such a wonderful organization. With a true love for women and a desire to help them navigate the difficulties of pregnancy and early motherhood. My sister had a rough pregnancy and the people at Mend really stepped up and helped her every step of the way. I recently started volunteering here and am blown away by everything they do to help others.

This service helped me a lot through my pregnancy and the early years of my motherhood and daughters life. I am so grateful for the videos that I was able to watch and learn and earn. They provided videos that help you learn about your child’s development that you earn points for watching and then you get to spend those points on your childs needs. The staff is amazing, they are so caring, supportive and kind. The bible studies with Cathy helped me grow in my faith, as a mother and as a person, and I am truly very grateful for them. Tammy is so kind and supportive and I always appreciate her kind words. Such loving wonderful people!
