I was given this number by the 211 operator yesterday. Of course since it was after hours I had to wait until today to call. Well, I just spoke to the Receptionist or Counselor (not sure) regarding a gas card. She told me that I can go online and fill out an application but she doesn’t think they will approve it! What?? Why not? Is it because I sound like I’m black on the phone? or is it because I don’t sound desperate enough? It’s obvious I need it for work (Amazon Flex). I am in the process of losing “EVERYTHING” that I worked hard for!!! I use to live in a four bedroom house making $65,000 a year. I never thought I would be homeless sleeping in my car and begging Christian Organizations for help! This is embarrassing and humiliating.. I have cried so much until I’m literally out of tears. Maybe God need to let you go through being homeless so you can learn how to have compassion for people!!

I'm disappointed with the services of this place.. I'm a disabled veteran and only needed their services once.. I needed their help when I had to pay $950 for my rent , and had already paid $800 on my own. When I told them I only needed $150 one time , I had to provide so many items of information..and I didn't have them all. I mean my 2019 tax form ? I mean come on. The hoops I had to jump through I gave up.. they don't have a phone number they don't answer anything but another computer generated questionnaire to decide whether they'll help you or not.. Take my word don't waste your time !!

Love Network of Baytown is truly a blessing, I been hit left and right with the pandemic financially just when I thought that was it for me and was about to lose all hope. LOVE NETWORK made it happen for me. Words just really can't describe how happy I am. I'm in tears! Thanks Brittany for your patience and help!
