Nick Buranen rated 1 2 weeks ago I don’t understand why legal aid of Nebraska even exists. |
Blessing Herman rated 1 a month ago Financially qualified but LA refused to take divorce case, despite my begging to help with the workload any way I could. Spouse filed divorce over 15 months ago, financial resources depleted and credit cards maxed out, mostly on legal fees, business and income destroyed, losing home, assets and accounts missing and unaccounted for, discoveries incomplete, on assistance, and they won't help. Neither can any of the student legal clinics. NE cases are really about who has the most money and can financially starve out the defendant. NE needs to legislate for "level the playing field" legislation in "substantial parity" like other states where the financially dependent spouse cannot be financially battered into giving up. |

Elizabeth Ramirez rated 5 a year ago Things were so crazy for me during the 1st year of the pandemic. Schools closed, daycares closed and working from home with 4 kids under 10 was near impossible. My employer accommodated as much as reasonably possible if not more, but when I ended up getting COVID-19 during Christmas well it was awful. I really don't remember much aside from when I finally woke up I had gotten a text from my employer letting me go. I get it. they had business needs. So I filed for unemployment. after they called me and I explained why they said I should not have any problems with getting it. 2 days later I got a denial stating I was being disqualified due to misconduct. So I called and they said I needed to file an appeal. I was hurt that my employer would have said something like that. So I called Legal Aid of NE. They took my case right away and helped by filing exhibits in preparation for my appeal as well as representing me in it. the Legal Aid attorney communicated with me every step of the way and made sure I understood as well. She almost always answered her phone and always returned my calls. I waited and waited and waited for an answer to our appeal but nothing was coming in. The Legal Aid attorney was quick to call anyone and everyone to get answers. Eventually I did get my benefits thanks to the dilligent work of those at Legal Aid. Thank you Legal Aid! |
Tiffany Badke rated 1 a year ago They take you through loops and loops and spend hours of your time and get sooooo far into your business, just to let you know they can’t even help you. This program is supposed to HELP people. Waste of time. |
