Review Title: Rude, Dismissive, and Completely Unhelpful I reached out to Legal Aid of North Carolina on July 11, 2025, for help with a serious housing issue involving my brother, who is also a police officer. I’ve lived with him for years under a verbal rental agreement, have consistently paid rent, and now I’m being pushed out of the home without proper notice or protection. The woman who returned my call at 12:28 PM was immediately rude, aggressive, and completely dismissive. She called me a “guest,” said I was a “squatter,” and told me I had no rights because I wasn’t on a written lease. I tried to explain that I’ve been paying rent since I was 17( now 22) but she ignored everything I said. She even hung up on me before I could get her name. This was not just unprofessional—it was harmful. Her attitude and misinformation delayed my ability to get real help. Thankfully, I have documentation of everything and have since re-applied and reported the call. Legal Aid is supposed to protect vulnerable people—not tear them down. If calls are truly recorded like your site says, I hope someone reviews that call and holds her accountable.

I called the Greenville legal aid office three times on different days and was unable to speak to anyone directly. Listened to a long list of options that didn't fit my inquiry. Been on hold for 50 minutes and a message came oon telling me they are having a high call volume and to press five for a call back. When I press five there's nothing, no intake of phone number for a call back and you just continue to hold and that option never comes on again. Must I drive over an hour to ask a question? Have they been shut down? This is extremely poor customer service considering this is a state run facility.

Legal aid was wonderful regardless of the fact they won’t help me, they really or should I say the young man JOSH I think his name was? Very sweet kid I could tell he really wanted to help me but without a case that’s money involved he couldn’t do anything. But he went above and beyond to explain things to me he sent me helpful information and was concerned about me and my situation. So legal aid was a good experience. I only hope the kid keeps his good heart and not turn cold in this profession
