Great place, very caring staff, Hope was amazing, ty LH!

Any organization that helps women I’m going to be in full support. I did the 5k today and it was beautiful to help victims of DV by giving back. What was a tad frustrating and something we often see even in the media is the lack of empathy for minority women abused. I saw many posters of “in memory of” women who have sadly left this earth due to DV but they couldn’t even show one woman of color- as if we are immune to DV. It was saddening and contributes to the idea that women of color aren’t victims or even if they are they just aren’t important enough- to even put up one dedication photo to. Please do better, you have minority women working at your organization and this is a smack in their face too.

This place turned my friend and her child away because she was temporarily staying with me while she was trying to get away from an abusive situation. They offered zero assistance. These people do not care. After being recommended and advised about all the great resources Laurel House has to offer just for her to immediately be rejected a safe space is a huge disappointment. They made her feel horrible for calling and asking like it was her fault for being in that situation. Please heed the one star reviews. Look into organizations like Victim Services Center of Montgomery County, Women in Transition or just any other resource.
