This organization is run by religious bigots. If you are LGBTQ+ this is not a safe space to work/volunteer. With that in mind, LGBTQ+ people aren’t safe there at all, no matter the reason. How disturbing to know that they are pushing their religion onto people.

Sadly this place serves mostly as a "waiting area" for the county morgue. Or the jail. To their Credit many of the staff do their best to help within the spartan limitations they must work within.

If you’re a member of the LGBT community and want to volunteer to help the homeless don’t bother, they don’t want you! Unless you’re willing to sign a policy saying you’re offensive to God. Even if you have years experience volunteering for homeless and GED/Literacy organizations! There’s no hate like Christian love!

I went for the volunteer tour and loved it! You wouldn't believe how many services they have for unhoused people. There are medical and dental and job services and even help for veterans. They have substance abuse programs and food. It is a Christian-based organization so it is a very kind and loving environment. I highly recommend that you shop at their stores. There are several spread out all over Knoxville. The prices are very good and you can even donate yourself. If you are in need of housing or food you can go to the downtown location and they will take care of you. It might not be a permanent solution, but it is a helping hand. The place is clean and very well taken care of. Their volunteers are outstanding.

My Dog and I were there back in June or July 2022 they are putting elders and disabled outside in the sun heat and they just sit there all day it's so sad during severe heat or cold for those that are able to walk and get around I do understand ...but the disabled and elders should not be in that same boat they need to fix that some way with all the grant money there gettingJesus watch over this place also heard some sketchy things about them taking food and selling it and feeding the homeless grits and bread urine and fiecies all over bathroom and crack pipies in bathroom on the good note they had beds very nice with scriptures notes on pillow ...and the lady does a very nice devotion they did not wash blankets they reuse them though thank you God bless everyone Shalom 🙏
