I don't recommend hope shelter they will kick you out for no reason if you homeless in the streets please my advice get a room for rent off someone like I did

This place is a mixed bag. No cookie cutter, here's the review. If you need clothes & food, they will definitely help you out with that! If you're looking for a job, your pretty much on your own. So you will have you do leg work on your part. The staff is "meh" & the rules change every single day. You have to keep a close eye on your belongings because people will steal from you and don't expect the staff to do a investigation on the situation to help you get your stuff back! You NEVER trust anybody in there! Keep your head down & do what you have to do! Also it's best to know the area of Reading because they do not allow people to chill there all day long SO you will have to go outside and find places to chill at during the day. Chruch isn't mandatory unless you want their dinner which is honestly their best meal. The church stuff is a hit or miss because they don't practice what they preach but you will receive the word. Their meals are pretty decent and they often let you get 2nds depending on how full the shelter is. Long story short, this place is what you make it. Stay to yourself and handle your business. Also you do have to pay to stay, you can volunteer to pay for your bed BUT that distracts you from doing what actually supposed to be doing like finding work. It's best to come there already with a job.

Hope rescue mission is a awesome place to get help if you really need and follow they're rules. Is no reason for a person to say anything negative about HRM if u have a bad experience there is because you don't want to follow the rules u don't have money to pay a bed you can volunteer and pay the bed.
