Holy Spirit Church and Ministries - Society of St. Vincent de Paul

I found this Church to be overtly political. Once during a timeframe where the Catholic abuse scandals were heavily in the news, the priest gave a sermon demanding that people stop questioning the authority of the Church. Even though we used to live nearby we started driving to a Church that put the focus the faith.

A lovely church in the Annandale area This church is part of a complex located on the north side of Braddock Road to the west of I-495. The complex has a church close to the main road and a church down the hill farther from the road with a parking lot between them. I cannot speak to the school but can tell you about the church as we were recently there for an event. The building is a brick design with marble accents on the outside. The parking lot is large and convenient to the structure. Over the entrance are the words, “Veni sancte veritas" which translates to "Come, holy truth.” You enter into the foyer with the font in the center, Bathrooms and offices to the left and event room on the right. The church is directly ahead of the entrance with a set of glass doors separating the two spaces. The church has several unique features like a glass wall at the back of the church with images carved into it, an atrium with a baptismal font and a gathering room on one side of the entrance. I visited for a baptism. The mass was held first for the children that were being blessed. Following that the clergy were wonderful and understanding about letting us take pictures on the special day. The church is beautiful inside with carpet, wooden pews, marble sanctuary and stained glass windows. Overall, this is a very nice place to practice in the catholic religion.

Great place to worship. The perish is welcoming and they have lots of Bible studies and other groups you can join.
