I was placed ot holston on September 05 2024. I was there for nine months and here is what happened. Holston is supposed to help kids but I ended up going insane there. I had to wear jeans and a polo all day. We had groups that no one I was with even found helpful. They forced us in our rooms for one hour of the day even if we didn't want to. U had a bed time of 9:00 unless u were on mastery (the second highest phase which was 10:00). U got grounded for every little thing. If u were grounded u had only 15 minutes of playtime and u couldn't even play with anyone else. Also u couldn't even talk to ur self or anyone else. Unless it was staff but it was only about ur program. They even fired a staff for something that wasn't even his fault. He accidentally crashed a car with a kid in it so they drug tested him. He was taking a med that was legal marijuana for his anxiety but they didn't care. They fired him and didn't even let him say goodbye and told the kids he quit. But all in all I did make friends with some of the kids and staff but it was the worst 9 months of my life.

If I could give -0 was here in 2020 due to dhs It was borderline cult behavior with the school in this place a staff member quite literally put their knee on my neck etc. I was here for 2 days and I have trauma etc this place traumatized me those 2 days had to go to short term care. Very controlling. The school teachers are creepy. Everything is weird about this place pls don’t send your kids here

We have been involved with Holston Home for Children for a number of years. I am consistently touched by the loving concern shown for all of their residents. They are God and child focused and a wonderful organization.
