Haven truly lives up to its name. It has helped so many in need. I have total respect for this wonderful society

***BEWARE*** Unfortunately, not the place to go to if you have been physically and mentally abused. The staff were not interested in supporting me. They pick and choose who they want to help. I don’t understand how they get so many donations. I did not feel safe with the way staff from the transition house treated me, both in person and on the phone. They refused to address my concerns or listen to me objectively. When I reached out to the staff for help and human connection, I was repeatedly told that "we are not councillors, and if you want to talk to someone, you can go to Brooks Landing". "We are simply here as a safe house". I don't understand how a safe house cannot offer a better service to its clients when they are so generously supported by the community! There was 1 decent staff member, but overall I was shocked by the lack of empathy and understanding. They claimed that I had broken their confidentiality agreement when I did not and never would. Don’t expect help from these people. ZERO EMPATHY, ZERO UNDERSTANDING, ZERO HELP, ZERO SUPPORT. I did email you with my concerns a week ago and I still have no response from you. I have stayed in two other crisis shelters in the past and Haven house been the worst one. It’s shocking! Another week has gone by now and still no response on your part, even after I resent the email. IS THIS A JOKE TO YOU ????? I am not in the habit of giving bad reviews. Why am I still being ignored a month after posting this review?

I called to get some resources and the person that answered was so rude. He didn't offer me any of the information I asked for and was very rude.
