Doctor Pat Naomi founded the Shelter for Victims of Domestic Violence, Inc. in November 1978. It was first known as The Battered Women's Project. The first shelter was located in Portales, NM. In 1979, The Shelter relocated to Clovis, NM.
In 1985 a safe house was established to provide protection for victims of domestic violence and their children. After several moves, the offices relocated to our current home at 900 North Main Street in May 2003. The Hartley House also has satellite offices in Portales and Tucumcari.

I wanted to donate some gently used plus size clothing and other household goods and they took everything. The staff were very friendly and I hope that the stuff I donated went to good use.
