Provided a clean home with: heat, electricity, water & food. All of which I was very grateful of after one week of being in the home. I got employment, was only provided transportation for a week which we weren’t informed we would have to get our own transportation. I was told by the executive director that” I had to eat the mother’s meals whether I wanted them or not”. Which made me feel very low. I was the only black girl in the house and the youngest the other moms slammed dishes, doors, and yelled at me. And I constantly heard them talking about me outside my bedroom. I mentioned the concerns to staff plenty and all I got told is what I could’ve done better. I cleaned even when I didn’t eat dinner because it was mandatory. On my nights to cook moms either didn’t show or clean but no one was addressed. I was constantly provoked by the other moms staff did nothing. After being in the home for less than two months I was told by the executive director she wouldn’t be able to deal with me anymore because I made the other mom’s uncomfortable just by my presence I’ve never been aggressive. I was told I had less than two hours to have my things out of the home as of 6/22/2021 me and my baby was back homeless without stable living I wouldn’t recommend this place for minorities at all I pray this place gets under different staff and practice more what they preach.

It’s was perfect! I went there in 2002. They were just opening. My life was a mess before them. Pregnant at 14. Not knowing or caring what I was gonna do with my life. I got there and my other parents I like to call them. Sarah and johnathan were the best! In addition to the other staff! They healed my soul!!!! With my mother never leaving my side and I did have a lil trouble adjusting after leaving and having to decide if I wanted to run the streets and be nothing, or work hard , keep my relationship with god and be the best I can. I choose the better! My mom has since passed in 06 I had a daughter in 04 who also passed. God it good however and this experience at Hannah’s home set the tone to make me a better me. My son is 18 will be 19 that’s the baby I was pregnant with when I was there. I also have a set of twin girls that are 10! Have a loving god fearing husband and a wonderful life thanks to our father! Just wanted to share my experience with you guys! You are angels!!! After covid I would like to come out and help or whatever I can do now if possible. Available most mornings.
